Of the many wondrous places in the world I'm dying to see, Petra is in the top ten. No question.

And a question for the photographer - aussieontour - photo - if s/he is so inclined: Is there anything special about this moment, day, trip, or place beyond what you've shared on Flickr that you'd like to add or comment on here? Along with other vivaca visitors, I would love to know more!

Ever since Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade introduced me to Petra, as a kid, the desire to see this city set in stone has been full flame. How off the charts amazing does this place look? Unreal, right? I've gotta see it myself someday. Got to. And this image - the larger-than-life architecture glimpsed through the rough, rugged stone? The light and dark. Lovely.
