What can I say about this photo, other than I think it's fantastic? The colors, the composition, the aloha. It's a beautiful photos and it makes me smile. How can you not look at it and feel happy? Fantastic, fantastic shot.

Sigh. It's been a day. One of those days. So if I could be teleported to any place on the planet, this is where I'd go. And pronto. I've walked down this very path many times before, and felt the anticipatory rush of relaxation wash over me, as I headed straight for the impossibly white sand and turquoise-blue water of Lanikai Beach. Best beach in Hawaii. And arguably the best beach in the world. It's like a dream. Even when teeming with fellow tourists. If you've never been, go you must. It will take your breath and and any stress you may be carrying clean away, straight away!

I would really like to take in this view (or one of those two beaches) firsthand someday. Though I've been to Kauai a handful of times, I've never made it to the breathtaking (and hard to reach) Napali Coast. Next time!
And though this image has a reflection from the plane or helicopter, I like it! I think it adds another dimension to an already surrealicious view.

Sea, sand, and sky. That's the trifecta that is Hawaii; any island you please. And even when it rains, it's remarkable. I spent a few mornings like this one last fall on the island of Oahu. Blue sky and sunshine is great, but morning showers can also be resplendent. Especially when rainbows like this one rip across the sky, robbing you of your breath and worry over losing a day of vacation to Mother Nature's melancholy; rendering you silent and reflective. Full of awe and peace.
