My god. Where has the time gone? I have really been neglecting this blog. As well as my workouts. But the latter is none of your concern. Lucky you! Here's to getting back on track. The focus for now being Paris, as that will be the site of my next international escapade. And nothing is more inspiring when planning a trip of one's own than thumbing through the memories of fellow travelers. Take this dreamy interpretation of the Parisian cityscape. Old and new at the same time. I love it!

Your comments on this image are welcome, and encouraged! And a question for the photographer - Americo Duarte Santos - if s/he is so inclined: Is there anything special about this moment, day, trip, or place beyond what you've shared on Flickr that you'd like to add or comment on here? Along with other vivaca visitors, I would love to know more!

  1. hope you have fun in paris! it's a really unique city!

Then tell us all about you saw.

oh and about the picture, it was taken from the top of the "Arc de Triomphe". Which has one of the most amazing views of all paris.

Normally people when traveling in paris always wait on the long queues to go all the up the Eiffel tower but always forget that they can also have an astonishing view of the city, from "Arc de Triomphe", which a totally recomend.

When I arrived home I had a lot of nice shots from paris, but since the Eiffel tower is such a recurrent theme I decided to give this photo a boost, and a personal touch. Like you said paris has an incredible old charm, acquired trough hundreds of years of history, which I tried to reflect giving to this photo an old touch.

But paris is also modernity, fashion, light, which I tried to refect on another version of this shot: http://www.flickr.com/photos/endaksi/3762270060/

  2. Thank you. Or merci, I should say. I'm sure I'll enjoy the trip. I like to go every 5 years for the "milestone" birthdays. Next spring's visit will mark the halfway point to ... Another milestone birthday ;)

I love the view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower from the Arc de Triomphe. I did that on my last trip to Paris and was glad for the view. I'm curious about the view from the Montparnasse skyscraper, but a little afraid of heights. I've not yet been up in the Eiffel Tower itself, even though I've been to Paris several times. There's always a "next time" though, so I'm not too worried. I'll get around to it, eventually.

Lovely photo and treatment, again. Great job.
