Why aren't towns and cities in the United States a fraction of this charming? I suppose old Boston, parts of NYC, and elsewhere quaint on the East Coast can come close, but the rest of the States - in terms of charm - falls pretty generally short, in my book. With few exceptions.

I like the "light at the end of the tunnel" feeling that this photo elicits.
