People say to skip Times Square, but I like it. For all the lights, ads, signage, and general mayhem. Only in New York!

If you haven't yet been and ever have the chance, get yourself to the Ligurian seaside town of Camogli. I stayed there, years ago, on a trip to the region. It was my home base for daily sojourns to nearby jewels like the Cinque Terre, Portofino, Sestri Levante, and other, sleepier spots. Camogli is truly lovely, and largely less touristed, in its own right.

Missing Paris again, today. What I wouldn't give to be behind the camera, walking down this very street, right now.

This grainy-good, sunny (though subterranean) sentimental snap paints perfectly my nostalgia today for Paris. At the moment, I miss it terribly.

From yesterday's celestial sunset in Santorini, we bid another dreamy day adieu from the Philippines. As sunset scenics go, this one is clearly exceptional. It seems that all the elements - sea, sky, silhouettes - have come together in a surreal harmony of the senses. The only thing more dramatically delicious than admiring this riveting view would be to have been there to experience it, firsthand.
Bravo on a sunset well-snapped!

Oh heavenly day, indeed!
Sometimes you have to dig, but if you muck around awhile there are always gems to be discovered on Flickr. And then, there are those rare photos that transcend the rest of the best and truly transport you to another place. In this instance, a sun-kissed vision of picture-perfect Oia on the Greek Island of Santorini. Now I've looked at a lot of lovely photos of Oia, but this one, for me anyway, truly takes a piece of the proverbial cake. Delicious!

I would really like to take in this view (or one of those two beaches) firsthand someday. Though I've been to Kauai a handful of times, I've never made it to the breathtaking (and hard to reach) Napali Coast. Next time!
And though this image has a reflection from the plane or helicopter, I like it! I think it adds another dimension to an already surrealicious view.

What I wouldn't give to be on that deserted, picture-perfect beach right now. Craning up to admire the cliffs, and then back down and out to take in all the beautiful shades of blue. Particularly that serene hue right where the sand meets the sea. Ahhh.

Hello gorgeous!
Wow. Wow. Wow. I just happened to catch this photo out of the corner of my eye as I was logging into Flickr only moments ago. And I knew I just HAD to blog it for us today. How dreamy is this old image of Capri, right? Fantastic. And how wonderful that the Library of Congress shares gems like this with the world, via Flickr. Because chances are that most of us would never have discovered or been able to enjoy (or put to use) great public domain photographs like this one.
Mille grazie, Library of Congress. You rawk.

What a great shot of the window at Angelina's! Makes my stomach grumble, but then I remember the mouse (and my stomach grumbles again, for other reasons). That said, I think I'm over it and will be back for hot chocolate (avec chantilly) and treats again, the next time I'm in Paris.
