Sounds like the culture of Campo de' Fiori and other hot spots of Roman nightlife is about to undergo a major party-pooping change. I was just reading in this morning's paper about how Rome's new right-wing mayor has put into law stricter rules around alcohol after certain hours. Party all night long? No more. At least not out in public, drink in hand, on the streets of Roma. Oh, and nice picture by the way! The graffiti and stickered-up do-not-enter sign, and the light from the oncoming scooter; love it. Gives me a good feel for this bit of a city that I've not yet had the pleasure of seeing in person.
Your comments on this image are welcome, and encouraged! And a question for the photographer - FLY - if s/he is so inclined: Is there anything special about this moment, day, trip, or place beyond what you've shared on Flickr that you'd like to add or comment on here? Along with other vivaca visitors, I would love to know more!

hello im FLY...
ReplyDeleteand yes that photo represents a moment in time where i re-visited my favorite city, and that alley way just happened to be one of the first places i knew in Rome. Campo di Fiori, was for me the first point of reunion with friends, lovers etc....
The unique bit about this area of the city is the heavy tagging, and wonderfully old buildings... Which is quite a contrast being in the centre and all....
i love this photo and i deeply love this city!
thanks for putting my image here :)
It's a great photograph. Thank you for the additional insight into what you saw and what this spot and the city in general means to you. I hope to get to Rome one day and look forward to stumbling upon this very corner that I became familiar with vicariously through your image. Mille grazie for the introduction!
