Anyone who loves Venice will likely fall for Corfu, too. I've not been, but I'm already quite smitten. Corfu was once a key piece in the vast and powerful puzzle of properties that made up the Republic of Venice. For four centuries, Corfu was an outpost of the Most Serene Republic. Though a part of Greece, this idyllic island has plenty of Italian history and soul.

And a question for the photographer - #victoria# - if s/he is so inclined: Is there anything special about this moment, day, trip, or place beyond what you've shared on Flickr that you'd like to add or comment on here? Along with other vivaca visitors, I would love to know more!

  1. Walking down the busy touristic Corfu-town alley's, suddenly drifting into a narrow sideway finding a big surprise. There it was, a quiet small area, no people, only the birds singing there song and the beautifull Corfu scenery, just asking to be frozen by my camera for ever.
