What a stunning bridge and setting! So glad it was rebuilt after the original bridge was destroyed in the 1990s per the war. When I was nearby in 2006 I wasn't able to make it to Mostar, but it's most definitely on my list of future trips.

Hi! Thank you so much for noticing my picture :) This photo is from my interrail trip through Eastern-European countries in May. The day was very hot and sunny. Although I like this photo , it alone does not give a realistic view of Mostar for this small area is nicely renovated and rebuilt unlike most parts of the city.
ReplyDeleteThis picture was taken from an outdoor café which was an excellent spot to shoot nice pictures of different things. On the other side of the lens were huge chunks of the old bridge that was destroyed and people collected pieces of it.
I wanted to create something nice for this picture from this beautiful shape. So I got this vision to put it where it is from this angle to represent it in the way of a graph/diagram with the multiple plots as it appears here.
I've seen many lovely pictures of Mostar and its bridge, but what I liked particularly about this image that led me to select it is the interesting angle. Thank you for posting a comment that gives more detail on this unique view of such a unique architectural gem of a city and its special bridge.
ReplyDeleteDid you get to see the locals who have made an art of jumping or diving from the bridge into the water below? You can see some photos of that on Flickr and elsewhere. Very cool! That would be nice to see in-person, as well.
