One of the most enjoyable aspects of Venice is that every lane is a pedestrian lane. The labyrinth belongs to foot power rather than the world's automakers. Not even scooters or bicycles have a place on the terra firma here. And being that Venice is one of the safest cities in the world, men and women - whether alone or together - can wander the streets day or night virtually worry-free. It's wonderful. Window shopping in the blue light of early evening is highly recommended, and surreal.

Your comments on this image are welcome, and encouraged! And a question for the photographer - view836 - if s/he is so inclined: Is there anything special about this moment, day, trip, or place beyond what you've shared on Flickr that you'd like to add or comment on here? Along with other vivaca visitors, I would love to know more!
