The Louvre has a lot of famous statues. The Winged Victory is my favorite. Can you see why?

Your comments on this image are welcome, and encouraged! And a question for the photographers - buggles123456789, Ron Wilson, danske, otromanuel, pinoyvlf, Rod Graves, Joanne, j-squared - if they are so inclined: Is there anything special about this moment, day, trip, or place beyond what you've shared on Flickr that you'd like to add or comment on here? Along with other vivaca visitors, I would love to know more!

  1. Thanks for the appreciation!
I live in Chicago and was able to take a one-week trip to Paris in the spring. I was there on my birthday. The Eiffel Tower and the Louvre were two spots I visited on my birthday. As such, this photo was taken then.. it was quite the experience. Visiting the Louvre is one thing. Visiting on your birthday is another.
Winged Victory was my favorite piece in the museum; it really hit me as something beautiful, even more than Venus de Milo AND La Jaconde... Another thing.. on that day, I had a conversation in French (not my native tongue) with a group of French schoolkids as part of one of their museum assignments.
