How to decide? I want one, of everything!

Your comments on this image are welcome, and encouraged! And a question for the photographer - w_a_b - if s/he is so inclined: Is there anything special about this moment, day, trip, or place beyond what you've shared on Flickr that you'd like to add or comment on here? Along with other vivaca visitors, I would love to know more!

  1. I'm glad you like this image & glad you posted it because it led me to your fantastic blog!

I took these photo's at the Laduree on the Champs Elysees in May of 2007. My mom and I went to Paris for a week and we were lucky enough to be there at the same time as a huge Marie Antoinette Exhibit at the Grand Palais. After the amazing exhibit, we walked to Laduree for lunch- and pastries & macaroons of course. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to take photos, but these shots were worth the scolding.

Between the exhibit and our lunch at Laduree, that day was the highlight of our trip for me.

I'll be reading your blog! And I'll be back in Paris in May of 2009 so watch for more photos...

  2. Truly worth the scolding! I didn't know you're not allowed to take photos inside Laduree (I've seen plenty of others; maybe who weren't caught or who were similarly scolded). Thanks for the 411; I'll remember to forget (worth the scolding!), for the next time I find myself inside this bastion of baked goods ... Which will be in the spring of 2010 (and not a moment too soon).

I have my own little Laduree story, too. In the spring of 2005 I was there with a friend to celebrate my 30th birthday. Having taken French for six years, I feel comfortable speaking; even though my studies were eons ago, at this point. Anyway, I approached the counter with confidence and ordered "une tarte Citroën, s'il vous plaît" by mistake. The ladies behind the counter had a good laugh and I immediately realized my error and said, "Mais non, non! Une tarte au citron, bien sûr."

In the event you don't speak French and get the joke, a Citroën is a brand of car and citron is lemon.

    Ha. Ha. Ha.

Anywho, thanks for posting a comment on your photo and I'm so glad you like my blog. See you again, soon!
